WP Group is the latest company in the UK and Republic of Ireland to join the trade association for the oil distribution industry.
The regional fuels and lubricants service provider has signed up to the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS), headquartered near Manchester, which provides members with a collective voice for the industry at national level.
David Fairchild, WP Group Managing Director, pictured, said: “The FPS offers support and a voice for the oil distributor at government level to try and ensure a fair deal for the industry.
“It also enables go-ahead companies such as ours to meet up and discuss relevant issues which touch upon the lives of millions of people, from heating homes to powering farming machinery.
“The FPS also reflects WP Group’s ethos of raising standards and best practice, helping to optimise business efficiencies and further enhancing customer service in what is a complex industry with ever-changing legislative issues.
"Our commercial emphasis here at the WP Group is firmly placed on delivering not only fuels and lubricants but quality, innovation, service and performance.”
WP Group’s membership coincides with a raft of business wins.
WP Industrial, a trading division, has been awarded a fuel sales agreement with Thames Water and Thames Water Services, supplying 140 sites.
Operating from Esso’s West London terminal, WP Industrial is to provide the utility, which serves 8.7m clean water customers and 13.8m wastewater customers across London and the Thames Valley, with fuel for a variety of energy demands, from diesel engine vehicles and heavy plant to equipment and generators.
Premier Marinas, a leading UK marina group, also awarded a major fuel supply contract. WP Marine, a trading division, is providing fuel to five marinas - Swanwick, Southsea, Gosport, Port Solent and Chichester. A number of other high-profile contracts for household names are also in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, an enzyme fuel treatment that reduces CO2 and improves fuel economy in commercial and leisure craft has seen sales soar in the past 12 months.
Soltron, in partnership with WP Group, will be demonstrating the proven technology at Seawork 2011 in Southampton between June 14th and 16th amid growing demand from customers.
Benefits of the product include reduced fuel consumption and emissions, enhanced fuel equality and optimised engine performance, as well as preventing fuel contamination and restoring and reclaiming fuel condition.
