It was the second final for the team recently, having competed in the National Cup round-robin at Canterbury against some of England’s top sides winners Wakefield, Leicester and Teddington.
David Fairchid, WP Group’s Managing Director, said: “The girls drew lessons from the Canterbury competition and played brilliantly against Southampton in the Hampshire Cup Final to lift the trophy. We thrilled for them - they thoroughly deserved the win.”
Lauren Willows scored a hat-trick, with Courtney Lowman putting two away.
Gavin Rusling, the coach, said: “The girls have been in fantastic form this season, and there were four or five players in the team who weren’t available for the Canterbury fixtures.”
Gavin, a partnership development manager at QE School, Wimborne, added: “As I’ve previously mentioned, the commitment, dedication and team ethos in the squad has been superb the players are a real credit to the club and the schools they attend.
“Not one of them sees themselves as the ‘star’ of the team despite several of them achieving regional representative honours.
“They are just a really good group to coach and spend time with, and we’re grateful to WP for its support.
“We look forward to seeing the girls progress as they head towards the under 18s.”
The match took place on Monday, May 2nd.
Several firms have sponsored the team’s sports kit, with WP Group supplying hooded branded tops and skorts.
