WP Group support new Civil Engineering and Groundwork Apprenticeship (CEGA)

 15th Sep 2017

WP Group get behind first of a kind construction apprenticeship, donating 1,000 litres of red diesel to support the set-up of the new Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC).

The CETC will be run in partnership with Fareham College and will house the brand new Civil Engineering and Groundwork Apprenticeship (CEGA), a scheme designed to tackle the construction industry's ongoing labour shortage. The programme offers school and college leavers, adults looking for a new career direction and existing construction workers alike the chance to gain a formalised qualification within the industry.

Providing on-the-job training, the Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeship (CEGA) will enable participants to develop the skills needed to work in a variety of construction sites, while gaining a recognised qualification.

As a first of its kind, CEGA has gained national and central government interest and WP Group are proud to support the scheme as part of our continued dedication to supporting community initiatives and local employment.
