The ninth annual New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards 2014/15 saw local, southern based fuels and lubricants company, WP Group (WP) win both The New Forest National Park Authority Sustainable Business Award and New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP) Business of the Year Award.
The sustainable business award focuses on companies which make an outstanding effort in reducing their environmental footprint. In order to win this award each company had to demonstrate that through environmental management, local purchasing, smarter working and promotion of green policies their business has improved sustainability; environmentally, socially and economically.
WP’s sustainability program focuses on three key elements; people, planet and performance. WP is committed to developing a sustainability culture throughout the company and promotes this with its business partners, key suppliers and customers. This is achieved by behaving ethically, valuing their people, working with local communities and setting the example in the protection of our environment.

By providing energy efficient products, services and engineering solutions, WP’s sustainable impact is compounded by the ability to deliver significant emission savings to customers, whether large corporations, local businesses or independent garage networks. Across a series of recent energy efficient trials conducted, WP have been able to demonstrate a reduction of CO2 emissions in excess of 2000 tonnes and a waste reduction of 2500 litres with an opportunity to save considerably more in 2014 alone.

Having been awarded the Sustainable Business Award, WP went on to take the NFBP Business of the Year Award. This honour is chosen from the seven award winning companies on the night. As a category winner, WP will receive a year’s membership to the NFBP, an association that WP are honoured to support.
