ExxonMobil Gold Award goes to WP Group

The privately-run firm, headquartered on the Waterside near Southampton in Hampshire, has been named as a top distributor in Europe by ExxonMobil, the world's largest publicly-traded international oil and gas company.

 

A regional distributor of fuels and lubricants, WP Group has been ranked by Exxon Mobil as top lubricants distributor for the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

As a global leader and the operator of Britain’s largest oil refinery, this award is among the most honoured and respected in the industry.  WP Group (WP), which has 100+ staff and serves thousands of businesses and households around the central south coast and London. Operating out of Fawley Oil Refinery near Southampton, WP Group is one of Hampshire’s largest privately-run companies with group revenues of £200m.

Perhaps best known as a fuels distributor, WP Group is focussed on strengthening and developing their Mobil lubricants division.  Newly appointed Lubricants Sales & Marketing Manager, Lisette Norman, comments: ‘this achievement will go a long way to cementing our name across the UK and wider Europe as a recognised quality lubricants supplier and solutions provider’.

Following silver in 2011, the gold award recognises “outstanding performance” in their field.  Business excellence criteria for the top spot included sales growth in Mobil flagship and premium lubricants, world-class workforce development, operational excellence and marketing program implementation.

WP, founded locally more than 50 years ago, is one of just 20 Mobil lubricants distributors across Europe, African and the Middle East to achieve gold.
